Capital Market Partners (CMP), a financial-services advisory firm, is expanding its Nordic presence with an office in Oslo. The firm will advise clients in the Norwegian financial sector across strategy, regulation, processes and technology.

The Copenhagen-based consultancy opened its Oslo office on 1 May. The office supports CMP’s work with Norwegian clients amid regulatory, consolidation and technology changes.

“By moving physically into Oslo, we can offer local sparring based on a Nordic customer base, which is crucial where we advise on everything from strategic choices to deep ‘engine room’ transformations,” says Kenneth Brandborg, Managing Partner at Capital Market Partners.

CMP advises financial-services clients on capital-markets strategy, front-, middle- and back-office processes, regulation and technology. Recent assignments have included the selection and implementation of capital-markets technology, regulatory implementation, post-trade work and M&A services, as well as investment-strategy reviews and pricing models.

CMP already works with clients in Norway

The firm assists Norwegian clients in banking, investment and pension services, as well as technology-platform providers. Over the past three to four years, assignments have included regulatory reporting, selection and implementation of capital-markets platforms, commodities compliance, building investment departments, and data solutions and migrations.

CMP’s Nordic history

CMP was established in 2010 by four consultants from Nordea’s capital-markets area. Since then, it has focused on capital markets and the interaction between business, regulation and technology.

Co-founder Lars Christiansen says CMP’s consultants have experience from several parts of the financial sector. The firm’s clients include Nordic banking groups, regional banks, investment banks, pension funds, asset managers and market-infrastructure companies.
